In order to borrow material from the library, you must be registered as borrower at Aalborg University Library. Any permanent resident in the country can be admitted as borrower and obtain a library card. New students are registered as borrowers automatically, whereas new members of staff must contact the library for registration.
The library's material can be checked-out by any registered user. Personal ID must be presented upon registration.
The library card is free of charge, and must be used in connection with all loans and requests.
The cardholder is responsible for any misuse of the library card, should it be stolen or lost, until the library has been notified.
In the event of change of address, the library must be notified. It is possible to change one's own address at the library's web site.
Borrowed material must be handled with care. You are not allowed to pass borrowed material on to other borrowers or to write notes or underline text.
The loan period is usually one month for books and journals. In certain cases, the library may stipulate a shorter or longer loan period. The loan period appears on the receipt. Out of consideration to other library users, one should not exceed the loan period.
Due to considerations regarding security and accessibility, certain types of material are not for loan. These materials are for use in the library only. Reference books, the latest journal issues and particularly costly, or rare, materials are not for loan.
You are not allowed to take borrowed material out of the country.
A receipt is issued, when material is borrowed or returned. The return receipt should be kept as proof for a year.
