Aalborg University Library is a public library. You are always welcome to visit us at one of our branches, or at www.en.aub.aau.dk. We would like to point out that a number of our services are reserved for staff and students at Aalborg University. However, as external user — whether you represent a company, is an alumnus, or a private individual – you still have access to our collections.
You are free to borrow material from our printed collections, read newspapers and journals. You can use our electronic collections, but only from one of our branches. As external user, you do not have remote access!
Physical collections
You can register as user and get a library card - or company library card - at one of our branches. The library card is issued right away - remember to bring some ID. Alternatively, you can use the electronic registration form.
The collections of printed books and journals are located at the main library Kroghstræde 3, and at our Esbjerg branch. There are no loan collections at our other branch libraries in Aalborg and Copenhagen, but you are welcome to use them as pick-up place whenever you request material in the library’s search engine Primo.
Electronic resources and collections
All branches of the library are equipped with computers that you can use for e.g. information searching. All computers are connected to the university’s network, which enables you to access electronic resources and collections such as article databases and e-books. The contents of our collections are indexed in Primo.
Important: There are certain restrictions regarding use and access to the library’s electronic resources for external users. The principal rule is that you are only allowed to use the library’s resources for personal use. That is you may print, read, and download, as long as you do so for personal use only. You may also email links to a particular resource to yourself or to others, but not the actual content!
