Create a library profile

Aalborg University Library is a public state research library open to all. The library's primary task is to serve and support research and teaching at Aalborg University, but anyone with permanent residence in Denmark can obtain a library card.
Library users can borrow, pick-up, and request printed books and journals at all of our branches.
Different rules apply to accessing printed and electronic collections respectively. Read more about restrictions regarding use of online material.

All AAU staff with a valid AAU-username are automatically registered as library users. You can log into Primo where you can request printed material and access online resources. We recommend that you order an AAUcard. The AAUcard will serve as your library card, and once you have activated the card and created a pin code, you can use it to check out books on our self-service machines.
Staff without an AAUcard cannot use our self-service machines or sign up for department delivery.
NOTICE! Guest access cards cannot be used at the library.
When it comes to library use, PhD students rank alongside with AAU staff irrespective of whether you are paid by AAU or not. Make sure that your department has your recruitment procedures in order.

If you are a visiting PhD, you must sign up as "loosely affiliated" when you apply for a library card.
AAU students are automatically registered as library users. Your AAUcard is you library card. When you activate your card and create a pin code, you can use the card at our self-service machines for checkout and return.
Single subject students are not automatically registered as library users! If you need access to both our printed and electronic collections, you must fill in a registration form and select the user group: "private individual".
Visiting lecturers or persons loosely affiliated with Aalborg University are usually handed a guest access card. Guest card cannot be used as library card!
In order to use the library, you must fill in a registration form. We will issue or send a card that will serve as your personal library card. You must select a pin code. The card number is your user ID for use whenever you log in to our search engine Primo (log in with library card). You will receive an e-mail regarding password. The pin code is for use at our self-service machines only.
Once your AAU-Username has been cancelled, you will no longer be able to access My Page / My Loans in Primo. However, we will not delete your account immediately, especially if there are orders, home loans or unpaid fees.
As we use your AAU-Mail for communication, it is very important that you provide us with your new email address so that we can contact you in the future.
You are welcome to continue using the University Library as a private individual after you are no longer a student or staff member.
