Good news and bad news

We might as well tell you right away, private individuals with no current affiliation to Aalborg University cannot use our electronic resources from home! But you can access the resources, if you come to one of our branches during regular opening hours and use the library's computers.

Questions regarding library use

Private library users

Even though most of our services are aimed at staff and students at Aalborg University, private users are most welcome to use our facilities.

At our branches you can:

  • Request and borrow printed books and journals
  • Access our electronic collections from library computers for private purposes only
  • Read newspapers and journals
  • Get assistance from straff

Printed books and journals

The library's collection of printed books and journals are located at our main branch at Kroghstræde 3, Aalborg, and our branch in Esbjerg. There are no loan collections at the other branches, but you are most welcome to visit them and use them as pick-up place when you request material in our search engine Primo.

Electronic books and journals

You can use the computers at our branches for information searching. From these computers you can access our electronic collections and resources e.g. databases, articles and e-books. You cannot access these collections from your own devices, or from home.

You have to pay attention to certain general restrictions regarding access and use:

As a rule, private users are only permitted to use the library's electronic collections and resources for private purposes - never for commercial or other work-related purposes. You are permitted to read, print and download as long as you comply with the above terms. The material you use must not be shared with others - neither digitally nor in print.

A great place to print, study and return books. It has everything you need for long- or short-term study...
